Race equality in Policing

The College of Policing and the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) are currently taking feedback on their draft Race Action Plan. The plan specifically looks to improve outcomes for Black people who work within or interact with policing.
What is it?
The plan outlines key changes needed for police services across the UK to become anti-racist and to reform or explain race disparities.
Why engage?
This is a vital opportunity for leaders to make a targeted and transformational effort. We encourage all interested in racial inequality to give their honest and critical feedback.
Key dates
The survey is open until 28th August to anyone interested in this area, including anti-racist organisations, community groups, and members of the public.
our work
ARE’s criminal justice work largely operates through our EQUAL initiative, a national independent advisory group set up to tackle racial disparity in the criminal justice system.
