Background to the role

Action for Race Equality (ARE) is a national race equality charity. We have been running programmes and influencing policy since 1991.

Action for Race Equality believes in evidence-based policy. We carry out research into areas that affect the life chances of young people from ethnic minority communities. We also work with our partners by contributing to research projects. You can visit our library which contains a selection of the research we’ve led, work we’ve contributed to, or commented on.

This role is a new role developed as our policy department continues to grow. Whilst you will be working across each of our key areas, you will have a particular focus on our work in the Criminal Justice System as this role is funded by the Barrow Cadbury Trust and the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
