First Routes2Success parent forum for schools held in Ealing

On March 1st 2023, our Routes2Success team, Brianna Cryus and Phoebe Georgestone, held their first session with parents at Brentside School in Ealing. Brentside have been taking part in the school mentoring and role-model sessions, and the forum was to invite parents, guardians and carers to understand more about what the sessions covered.

Hosted by Routes2Success, with a speaker from the Communities Empowerment Network (a partner of the R2S programme), Brianna Cryus said:

Turnout was good and parents were pleased to see external organisations [like ARE] filling the gap where schools may not have the time”.

The event included discussions about careers and post-16 options with many adults thinking that the work Routes2Success is doing around career ambitions and aspirations should be included in the school curriculum.

Parents also welcomed the opportunity to find out what their children were up to on the Routes2Success programme, and were happy with the feedback and level of engagement from their children.
